PAX Prime 2010 Swag Report and Giveaway!

Free goodies were more difficult to come by this year than in years past; swag was largely hidden away and coveted, and there were usually requirements to achieve items.  I saw more surveys this year than ever, along with scavenger hunts, punch-cards, and long lines for t-shirts and nylon cinch bags.  For a recession year, though, there was an extravagant amount of free stuff! Some people walked away with gold:  Intel brought the noise again this year and gave out what sounded like dozens of Core i7 processors, as well as T-shirts, free games and pens. Newegg, nVidia, Kingston and MSI also had some pretty spectacular hardware giveaways, including motherboards, keyboards, mouse pads and apparently nVidia was also giving away tickets to Blizzcon.

There were, of course, a plethora of t-shirts handed out freely or tossed into crowds.  My favorite t-shirt was from the Assassin's Creed III booth, and all I had to do to get it was pre-order the game!  It might be too much for some people just for a free t-shirt, but I'm already so excited for the ACIII release!  Bioware had cool blow-up swords again this year, even bigger than last year, which makes me wonder what they'll do for 2011...

There was a huge amount of other small items as well:  pens, cinch bags, lanyards, mints, a Dead Rising bobblehead, a Duke Nukem belt buckle (pics or it didn't happen!), beta keys, plushies, posters, postcards, and all other kinds of crazy stuff!

Buttons were very popular again this year,  my favorites were mini pins with the Raskulls characters, from the Halfbrick booth (left). 


And if you haven't heard:  those League of Legends promo codes for in-game skins are worth lots of money on Ebay and are in high demand!  Everyone received a card in their swag bag, so don't recycle it yet!  Give it away and make a friend, as my mom tells me (constantly).
